Pin-chia Feng (National Chiao Tung University)

We invite scholars from all areas of Humanities and Cultural Studies to explore “multi-context” as a concept that is intentionally broad and inclusive of various disciplines. What we call “multi-context” refers to research that adopts a context-centered approach, exploring dynamic intersections among diverse social, cultural, technological, and environmental contexts.

This approach, rooted in methodologies of comparison and convergence, facilitates interdisciplinary studies employing context-centered methodologies that transcend traditional text-centered limitations such as period, genre, authorship, and medium. It also seeks to explore the contextual conditions surrounding the creation and reception of texts.

Possible topics may include, but are not limited to:

- language and culture

- comparative literature

- translation

- intercultural communication

- literature and history

- literature and politics

- literature and science

- adaptation and appropriation

- intertextuality

- intermediality

- transculturality

- medical humanities

- post-humanism

- new materialism

- digital humanities

- artificial intelligence

- environmental humanities

- the Anthropocene
